French bronze statue clock with gold ormolu finish

The French bronze statue clock is a classic when one wants to add a touch style and elegance to their decor.  This particular timepiece from the early part of the 19th century is an absolute beauty.  This clock has an scientific theme with its armillary, measuring instruments and books.  Also featured is a statuesque woman reading a book held in her left hand.  The gold ormolu finish on the bronze is almost perfect with on a few minor spots of patina.  The enameled dial with its hand painted Roman numerals is also in exception condition.   The movement of the clock will require winding once a week to maintain constant time keeping.  The clock strikes the hour on the hour and once at the half hour.  These types of clock look particular good in living rooms but it will undoubtedly fit beautifully into an entryway or bedroom.
