Antique Pair of Leather Club Chairs

Synonymous with the men’s club of the 1920s, the style of this pair is typical art deco with clean, flowing lines and rolled arms and back. The rich, medium brown leather features hand-stitched welted seams, and wears its age well. The benefit of bringing antique leather furniture into your home is its rich patina. Like wood, as this natural material ages, it will oxidize from time, use and cleaning, bringing a natural depth and interest that modern leather tanners cannot duplicate. The cube legs were in vogue at their time, and the rolled back reflects one of three distinct styles in the 1920s. The two other back options were: camel back, which featured a rounded top, and mustache back, which resembled the curved lines of a man’s mustache.
